Reducing belt vibrations in the coating area significantly improves coating quality. FOEN® has developed a system for correcting and damping belt vibrations that is characterized by its compact design, high application forces, and very short response times. The stabilizing effect is achieved by inductively measuring the belt position and controlling several magnets along the belt width.
Depending on the strip width, 3 or 5 pairs of magnets are used, with only the middle pair being fixed and the other pairs moving synchronously. In contrast to conventional hot-dip galvanizing lines with undesirable strip movements, the FOEN DEMCO® eliminates the need for overcoating to ensure that the required minimum coating is reliably achieved over the entire strip surface.
