Founded with knowledge, managed with consistency

Fontaine Engineering und Maschinen GmbH (FOEN®) was founded in 1969 by Paul Fontaine († 1998), a French engineer with extensive experience in the galvanizing industry. His aim was to develop technology that meets the requirements of leading steel producers. FOEN® is now managed by his son, Pascal Fontaine and other family members have executive responsibilities.

FOEN® is a family-run company and global market leader in the sector which guarantees continuity, stability and reliability.

Founding

Founded by Paul Fontaine in Langenfeld (Rhineland) — the start of a success story.

1969

Beginning

Delivery of the first FOEN® air knife nozzles — developed for greater precision and efficiency.

1972

Construction of the oldest plant still in operation

Construction of one of the first FOEN® systems that is still in reliable operation today — a symbol of longevity and durability.

1981

Pittsburgh, PA branch

Establishment of a branch in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA) — for customer proximity and rapid supply of spare parts in North America.

1988

Bridgeport, WV branch

Establishment of a branch in Bridgeport, West Virginia (USA) — expanding service for our North American customers.

1991

Beijing, China branch

Opening of a branch in Beijing and subsequent relocation to Wuhan in order to also have a direct presence in Asia.

1998
